We told you last month about our chairman of the board, Richard Burgess, qualifying for the United States Mid-Amateur Golf Tourney. Burg is now in Milwaukee, and he tees it up this weekend in the qualifying rounds. Burg is one of 264 golfers who will play in these two rounds Saturday and Sunday, with the top 64 advancing to the match-play portion of the tournament.
Burg tees off at 8 am central/9 am eastern Saturday and 12:40 pm central/1:40 eastern Sunday. You can follow his scores at the U.S. Mid-Am’s website. They’ll be updating scoring regularly.
UPDATE: Burg had a great week in Milwaukee. He finished in a tie for 51st after the two-round stroke play, but he was not able to advance in the playoff that determined the match-play competitors. We’re proud of Burg for playing so well!
The whole Wayfarer team wishes Burg the best this weekend. We’re proud of his accomplishment of making it to a national tournament.
